The 12th edition of The World Games opens in Chengdu

　　Chengdu, August 8(Taiwan.cn)—Boundless Sports, Countless Wonders. The 12th edition of The World Games officially opened on August 7 in Chengdu. 

 

　　As the largest-ever edition, the Chengdu World Games has attracted a record 6,679 athletes and officials from 116 countries and regions and the 3,942 athletes will compete in 256 events across 34 sports.

　　Chinese Taipei has sent its delegation: 190 members, including 120 athletes, who are competing across 14 sports, including Tug-of-war, bocce, kicker ball, softball, roller skating, kayaking, martial arts and so on.

　　The World Games is the highest-level international multisport event outside the Olympic Games, embracing self-expression and cultural inclusiveness.

　　Running from August 7 to 17 under the slogan "Boundless Sports, Countless Wonders," the 12th World Games marks the first time the event is hosted on the Chinese mainland.
